Hajar Aboudzaz Tmimi is a 24 years old moroccan girl who lives in Madrid (Spain). She trains boxing in “El Rayo” gym, in the neighbourhood of Vallecas in Madrid. Hajar is muslim and she doesn’t takes off the ‘hijab’ for the trainings.
She explains “the first day I went to the gym, all the people was looking at me strange, for seeing a girl boxing with the hijab, a sport mainly practiced by men. Thanks to god, as the days passed, I started to socialize and people started to know me, and a lot of people were asking me why I was wearing the hijab, how my parents let me train boxing or if this sport is forbidden in my religion”.
